Twitter Grant
This research will explain how societal stressors experienced from early childhood into young adulthood affect Latinx youth’s mental health.
Using an integrated data analysis approach, investigators will pool data from five longitudinal Latinx cohort studies spanning 2010-2026 to follow 2,515 Latinx youth and mothers from youth’s age 2 to 22.
The application will support:
1) collecting cross-sectional data for 500 Latinx individuals to establish standard measurement scaling across the five studies.
2) integrating data across all five studies.
3) extracting data from Twitter and the US Census to assess anti-immigrant rhetoric and neighborhood factors.
This study offers an unparalleled opportunity to understand Latinx mental health in relationship to multi-level stressors, adaptive factors, and sensitive periods of development.
This study is being completed in collaboration with Dr. Katy Roche, Dr. Esther Calzada, and Dr. Itai Himelboim.
